Located in Clarksdale’s historic downtown Arts & Culture District, The Stone Pony was created on the idea of a place for families to find fun and comfort dining and relaxing. Since its 2009 opening, it has become a place for visitors too, there is a vibrant bar, and a strong lunch crowd visits the daily specials regularly.
There is a banquet room that can seat 100. It sees a lot of parties, campaign rallies, business meetings, birthdays, big family reunions and more.
The robust menu features lots of fun choices. There are 10 appetizers ranging from fried pickles, great chicken wings to BBQ nachos.
There are more than a dozen specialty pizzas, and you can of course build your own (from 6″ to 16″, and do try the Comeback Sauce). There’s also the ‘Vano Challenge’, where two people are tested to see if they can eat a 28″ pizza with two toppings in less than an hour. And if they do, the Vano Pizza is free, and they get their name in the Stone Pony Pizza Hall of Fame.
From a list of 6 salad choices, the wedge salad is terrific, and notably popular. The ahi special, well… it sells out early.
The special lunch plates vary daily, as do their choice of vegetable sides, and a host of sandwiches range from a french dip on a hoagie, excellent brugers, to a classic ruben and a great BBQ sandwich, of course.
There is always a big handful of tasty entrees, from Alfredo pasta, lasagana to steaks and tenders, and specials too.
Desserts vary, and they are southern good, all of the time!
