A weekend traffic violation has resulted in the arrest of 38-year old Roosevelt Smith. Clarksdale police stopped Smith Saturday night around 6:30PM near Yazoo and 5th Street. Smith ran from the scene but was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit and was charged with being a felon in possession of a handgun.
