From WROX:
Last week’s meeting of the Clarksdale city board included a lengthy discussion about the Memory Lane Banquet Hall on MLK. Earlier this month the planning commission recommended conditional use of the property with several stipulations including having security inside and out at all events, no alcohol allowed, no noise and the property cannot be a nuisance to the neighborhood. Several commissioners told property owner Darry Jenkins that this was the last chance for the facility after numerous complaints from the neighborhood in the last several years. The board took no action yesterday, voting to carry the matter over for two weeks.
Charlie Estess of the Care Station also thanked the city’s fire department for their assistance in helping the Memphis Food Bank’s mobile pantry distribute over 11,000 pounds of food to more than 400 families on Monday.
