Chamber of Commerce and MEC to Host Talk on Enhancing Mississippi’s Economic Opportunities
The Clarksdale/Coahoma County Chamber of Commerce and the Mississippi Economic Council will host a talk titled Enhancing Mississippi’s Economic Opportunities. The lunch meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 19, from 11:30a.m. until 1:00p.m., in the side dining room of Stone Pony at 226 Delta Avenue in downtown Clarksdale. One may register to attend online at www.mec.ms or by calling 601-969-0022.
Chamber Executive Director, Jon Levingston, stated, “The Mississippi Economic Council is the state’s Chamber of Commerce. They are an important, effective advocate for the businesses and industries in our state. MEC president, Scott Waller will present an informative talk on economic competitiveness and job creation in the state, workforce and education achievement, business climate enhancement, and workplace wellness. Those are relevant and important topics here in Clarksdale, especially as we have concentrated so hard these past 18 months on the creation of new jobs in our city and county. I urge all those interested in economic development to register to attend.”
“We are very excited to be coming to Coahoma County,” said Scott Waller, President & CEO of the Mississippi Economic Council. “This is a great opportunity for us to discuss MEC’s mission and goals, but more importantly, it’s also a great opportunity to get feedback from community leaders and learn their opinions on important topics affecting our state.”
There is no cost to attend thanks to a generous sponsorship from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi; however, pre-registration is required at www.mec.ms or call 601-969-022.
